Terms and Conditions
1. About Scope
Scope is a ticketing platform operated in England and Wales. We provide technology that enables event promoters to sell tickets directly to fans. Scope is a ticketing agent only - we are not the event organiser, promoter, or venue operator in respect of any event listed on the platform.
By creating an account and purchasing tickets through Scope, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using the platform.
2. Scope's Role as Ticketing Agent
Scope acts solely as the ticketing agent on behalf of event promoters. The contract for the event itself is between you and the promoter. Scope is not responsible for the organisation, delivery, safety, or cancellation of any event.
Scope does not verify the accuracy of event information provided by promoters, though we reserve the right to remove listings that we believe are misleading or in breach of these terms.
Scope collects the ticket face value as agent for and on behalf of the promoter. Those funds are held on the promoter's behalf pending settlement to them and are not Scope's income at any point. The booking fee is Scope's income.
3. Booking Fees
A booking fee is charged on each ticket purchased through the platform. The booking fee is displayed clearly at the point of purchase and is separate from the ticket face value.
The booking fee is non-refundable in all circumstances, including where an event is cancelled, postponed, or where you are refused entry. The booking fee covers Scope's operational costs and enables us to maintain the platform for the benefit of independent shows.
4. Ticket Purchase Terms
4.1 All ticket purchases are subject to availability. Placing an item in your basket does not guarantee availability.
4.2 Tickets are non-transferable unless expressly stated otherwise on the event listing. You may not sell, transfer, or assign your ticket to another person without the written consent of the promoter.
4.3 Resale of tickets purchased through Scope for profit (touting) is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to cancel any ticket we believe has been or is intended to be resold, without refund.
4.4 A maximum number of tickets per customer per event may apply. This limit is set by the promoter and will be displayed on the event listing.
4.5 For 18+ events, you are required to confirm at checkout that you are 18 years of age or older. Valid photo ID will be required at the door. No refund will be given if entry is refused due to age.
5. Cancellation and Refund Terms
5.1 Event Cancellation: If an event is cancelled by the promoter, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket face value. The Scope booking fee is non-refundable. Refunds will be processed via the original payment method within 10 working days of the cancellation announcement.
5.2 Event Postponement: If an event is postponed, your ticket will be valid for the rescheduled date. You may request a refund of the ticket face value within 14 days of the postponement announcement. After 14 days, your ticket will automatically transfer to the new date. The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
5.3 Fan-Initiated Cancellation: Scope does not offer refunds on tickets where you simply change your mind. Tickets are sold as final once the purchase is confirmed, except as required by applicable law.
5.4 Refund Processing: Refunds are processed via Stripe to your original payment method. Scope's liability in connection with any refund is limited to the ticket face value only.
See our full Refund and Cancellation Policy for further detail.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1 Scope is not responsible for the acts or omissions of any event promoter, band, venue operator, or other third party in connection with any event listed on the platform.
6.2 Our liability to you in connection with any ticket purchase is limited to the booking fee collected on that transaction.
6.3 Scope shall not be liable for any loss of enjoyment, travel costs, accommodation costs, or other consequential losses arising from event cancellation, postponement, or any other circumstance outside our reasonable control.
6.4 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. User Conduct
You agree that you will not:
- Create fake or misleading event listings
- Impersonate any band, promoter, venue, or other person
- Use the platform to harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Attempt to circumvent any security measure on the platform
- Use automated means to purchase tickets in bulk for resale
- Upload or transmit unlawful, harmful, or offensive content
- Misuse the platform in any way that causes or may cause damage to Scope or its users
8. Account Registration and T&C Agreement
By creating a Scope account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. Your acceptance is given by creating an account, using the platform, and completing a ticket purchase. No separate acceptance record is held against your account.
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The current version and its last updated date are shown at the top of this page.
9. Account Termination
Scope reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or misused the platform. On termination, outstanding tickets may be cancelled at our discretion. No refund of the booking fee will be given in such circumstances.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Scope platform, including but not limited to the Scope name, logo, design, and software, is the intellectual property of Scope and may not be reproduced without our express written consent. Event content including flyers, band names, and event details remains the property of the respective promoters and bands.
11. Privacy
Your use of Scope is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and store your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version is published on this page with a last updated date. Your continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
