Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026Version 2.1

1. Overview

Scope acts as the ticketing agent only. We are not the event organiser. Responsibility for delivering the event as advertised sits with the promoter.

Scope does not offer refunds where you change your mind or can no longer attend. Being unable to attend does not create a refund entitlement. If you cannot attend and your ticket is eligible, you should list it for face-value resale through Scope. See our Ticket Resale FAQ for full guidance.

This policy sets out what you are entitled to in the event of cancellation, postponement, or other circumstances.

For questions about this policy, contact us at support@scopeshows.com.

2. Booking Fees - Non-Refundable in All Circumstances

The booking fee charged by Scope is non-refundable in all circumstances - including event cancellation, event postponement, and refusal of entry. This policy is stated clearly at checkout and in your order confirmation.

The booking fee covers Scope's operational costs and is retained regardless of the outcome of the event.

Where a ticket is resold through Scope, the seller receives the original ticket face value after a successful resale. The seller's original booking fee is not refunded. The resale buyer pays the normal applicable Scope booking fee on their purchase.

3. Event Cancellation

3.1 If a promoter cancels an event listed on Scope, all ticket holders are entitled to a full refund of the ticket face value. The booking fee is not refunded.

3.2 Scope will notify all affected ticket holders by in-app notification and email as soon as the cancellation is confirmed.

3.3 Refunds will be processed via the original payment method within 10 working days of the cancellation announcement.

3.4 Scope's liability in connection with a cancelled event is limited to the ticket face value. We are not liable for any travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred by the ticket holder.

4. Event Postponement

4.1 If an event is postponed, ticket holders will be notified immediately by in-app notification and email.

4.2 Your ticket will remain valid for the rescheduled date unless you request a refund within the 14-day window set out below.

4.3 Postponement refund window: You have 14 days from the date of the postponement announcement to request a refund of the ticket face value. After 14 days, your ticket will automatically transfer to the new event date and no refund will be available.

4.4 To request a refund during the postponement window, use the link provided in the postponement notification or contact us at support@scopeshows.com.

4.5 The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases, including where you request a refund following a postponement.

5. Fan-Initiated Refunds and Ticket Resale

5.1 Scope does not offer refunds where you change your mind or can no longer attend. All ticket sales are final once confirmed, except where this policy expressly provides otherwise.

5.2 If you cannot attend and your ticket is eligible, you should list it for face-value resale through Scope.

5.3 If another Fan purchases the resale ticket:

  • you receive the original ticket face value
  • your original booking fee is not refunded
  • the buyer pays the applicable Scope booking fee

5.4 If the ticket does not sell, no refund is issued.

5.5 While a ticket is listed for resale, the original ticket cannot be used.

5.6 If the resale completes, the original ticket becomes permanently invalid and the buyer receives a new valid ticket.

5.7 Resale closes 24 hours before doors open. An unsold resale listing is cancelled automatically at that point, or earlier if the seller cancels it, and the original ticket becomes valid again.

5.8 Resale is not available for tickets that are:

  • already scanned
  • refunded
  • void
  • guest-list tickets
  • otherwise marked ineligible

5.9 Resale is not available from 24 hours before doors open.

See our Ticket Resale FAQ for full resale guidance.

6. Refused Entry

Scope is not responsible for refusals of entry by venue staff or the promoter. Common grounds for refused entry include failure to produce valid photo ID for age-restricted events and conduct at the venue. No refund will be issued where entry is refused on these grounds.

7. Scope's Liability

Scope is the ticketing agent only and is not the event organiser. Our liability in connection with any ticket purchase is limited to the value of the booking fee collected on that transaction. We are not liable for any consequential losses arising from event cancellation, postponement, or refused entry.

8. Promoter Obligations

All promoters using Scope agree to our Promoter Agreement, which requires them to notify Scope immediately of any cancellation or postponement and to cooperate fully with the refund process. Promoters who repeatedly cancel events or fail to cooperate with refunds may have their accounts suspended.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
